I left my office to go run an errand, and there was a uniformed State Patrol officer standing outside my door. I told him if he was going to stay in the lab (which is also outside my door), he'd have to wear safety glasses. Then I handed him a pair, and continued on my way.

One of my profs is working with an outside engineering company on a vehicle component failure that's part of an investigation into the cause of an accident on the beltline a while ago, and the officer is there to maintain the 'chain of evidence' on all the pieces, so the prof has to be careful to make sure the officer can always see the pieces.
