I found a bug!
The College of Engineering uses a massive XML markup system for all of the "official" web pages, and they are then recompiled into HTML.
I went to edit one of the faculty profiles today and got a new error message. I called Joyce (the webmaster) and she hadn't heard of it, but she could edit the page I wanted to using IE or Firefox. I tried IE (I had been using Netscape), but that didn't work. A little thinking and a few other ideas later, we figured out that the Symantec Firewall (in SCS 2.0) is root of the problem. Add the web site to the list of trusted sites, and everything works.
