Yay for treadmills and stuff!

[livejournal.com profile] teeka and I just shoveled the driveway and sidewalks. We had about an inch of wet, heavy snow. It took me about 45 minutes to do the sidewalk, including the front path to the house, the curb cut, and around the hydrant (I didn't need to do around the hydrant, but as I was seeing how long shoveling would take, I included it). Teeka then did the driveway, and that didn't take long either.

As Teeka says in her journal neither of us was winded, or particularly sore afterward. I blame it on the treadmill. I'm currently up to a 40 minute workout, at a max speed of 2.8mph (and slowly climbing as my knees get better), which works out to about 1.5 miles, at a controlled heart rate of 126 beats per minute (this is the treadmill's "fat burning" workout). At some point, I'll also include the cardio workout. Teeka goes faster during her workouts, but my knees won't take jogging yet.

Next I have to pack up the truck with destructive implements to use on [livejournal.com profile] ringsnake's and [livejournal.com profile] snakewyfe's basement tomorrow.
