There's 5-6" of snow in the driveway right now.

The weather forecast is for 16-34" by the time it finishes Sunday night.

Boy, I'm glad I don't have to shovel (as if I won't wind up helping Lois...)!

Yep. We thought about calling you Friday night to find out how bad it was. It seems to all have happened while we were asleep last night.

where'd 34" come from?

i was hearing 1-4" for last night, totalling somethign like 15"ish inches by monday, and the 10pm news last night estimated 8-16" by 6am on monday. but 34?! eesh, it's going to have to start snowing again right quick now in order to get that much white stuff accomplished.

Last night I added up all the estimates from the weather forecast from Channel3000 (ie - 6-10 overnight, 2-5 on saturday, ...) and it came out to 16-34.

I wasn't really expecting that much (and, really, hoping it wouldn't go that far).

Friday night there wasn't a lot, but it snowed all night. We had about 6" this morning.

huh.

i'm now just wondering if my boss expects me to show up at work tomorrow -- there's a blizzard warning in effect until shortly after my shift starts, and if it's STILL snowing tomorrow, getting home is going to be...annoying.

it took us TWO HOURS to get to greenway station and back last night, and there was only an inch or two on the ground at the time! the blowing part sucks.

this also makes me think we should get our grocery shopping done now rather than later, as all we've got in the fridge is carrots, dip, fizzy water, and hard cider. oi.

Definitely do your grocery shopping sooner rather than later. Everyone in the city is going to see the warning, and some of them will panic and descend on the grocery stores like a pack of locusts (that's how one of the cashiers at Woodman's described it after the last big storm).
