Thermite... For the Win!

revchrisOfficially, it was a "welding accident".
One police officers, an electrician, two security guys, and a whole fire truck full of firemen later, the alarms are shut off, and the smoke detector I had forgotten about has a bag over it.
They're attempting another thermite test now, so, with luck, we won't be having more fire alarms tonight.
Edit: The undergrads also taped around the canopy hood to keep the smoke from escaping around the back. The second burn went perfect - all of the smoke up the hood.
