Digital Cameras

I'm thinking about camera upgrades. Right now, I have a CoolPix 2100 (that really belongs to work). It's a shirt-pocket-sized 2 megapixel camera, and it takes reasonably good pictures.

I'm thinking about a Canon Eos Digital Rebel. I'm not planning on buying it for a while, as it isn't in my budget right now. One of the big reasons that I'm leaning towards this particular model is that we already own a Rebel 2000 35mm camera, so the lenses and other accessories would be interchangeable.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should be looking at to help decide whether this is really the camera I want, or if I should be looking at another model? I've read through the DPReview article on it, but not having had a chance to play with one yet, I'm looking for some other suggestions.

the digital rebel is, fur all intents and purposes, the same as the canon 10d, save for a couple of bells and whistles (a few of the manual functions, and an extra ISO level). i enjoy my 10d quite a bit, and would recommend it to anyone.

if you'd like to take a look at it sometime, you're more than welcome to.
