We're back!
Mar. 30th, 2005 05:55 pmHaving successfully completed our 4-day round-the-world Easter Adventure (well, Madison to Ohio via Appleton and Rockford), we made it back in time for the thunderstorm!
MapsOnUs says we drove 1132 miles, and we did it in about 15minutes more than they say is the fastest route. We went through Chicago twice, and averaged the speed limit or higher both directions (south on I94/I90 the first time, and northbound on I80/I294/I290/I90) the second time). I'll have to gas up the truck on last time to get the total travel cost, but it'll be about 65 gallons of gas/$150. Here's the route we took.
On the way back we stopped at Rockford and bought close to 2 gallons (6 quarts and 2 pints, as that's all that would fit in the cooler) of ice cream from Baskin Robbins for Jeanne. They have a specific flavor she really likes, and Rockford's the closest Baskin Robbins to Madison.
