Several years ago, right after the completion of a gut-rehab of the building where I work, the faculty gave me a brick (one of the original 1910-vintage bricks from our building, with mortar still attached in some places). The two of us who were techs then each got a 'It's not a brick, it's a structural ceramic' award as a thank you for all the work we did making sure that the remodeling fixed everything the way it should work, as opposed to how the architects thought it should (and believe me, these two concepts can be vastly different, no matter how much you tell the architects about what you do and how it needs to be done).

I had told one of the undergrads about it while we were at my house working on their EXPO project, and she asked me the other day where it was. The screw on my wall where it used to hang is empty. I've been looking around my office, and so far, I've found a brick (which may or may not be the one I got, as I had several spares), but no sign of the plaque. I may have taken it home, but if I did, I'm not sure where I would have put it there either.
