It's been a busy day.

[livejournal.com profile] teeka's sister's mother-in-law passed away a few days ago, so the whole clan stopped overnight on the way to Milwaukee. There's really not room for six people in our house, but it worked out.

It also reminded me that I needed to fix the leak in the air mattress. I took it out into the driveway and sprayed it down with soap solution and found the leak. Now I'm waiting for it to dry off, because, of course, the leak is on the fuzzy part. Then I need to see if I still have a water bed patch kit, and if I get lucky, the original fuzzy patch piece from the air mattress.

Since I had the hose out, I washed the truck (mostly just hosed it off good), and Rain-X'd the windows.

And then, having the hose out, I watered stuff around the driveway.

Now I'm back inside, reassuring the cats that we didn't go away and leave them again. They're happy, though, because we let them play outside today. I failed to take the camera with me, so I didn't get pictures (or, even better, a movie clip) of Marley rolling around in the catnip patch on the hillside and sliding down the hill (repeatedly) during the process.

Dinner tonight is a crock-pot full of beef stew, which means that the whole house smells of stew, which is not a bad thing.

Teeka's out vending, so I'll need to pick her up in an hour or two.

I got my new hard drive, and it makes the exact same high-pitched whine as the first one, so I'm going to plug the original one into my work computer and see if it makes the same noise. If it doesn't, I may try replacing the power supply at home, since it makes the noise when it spins up, whether or not there is a data cable attached. I need to do something soon, because we've now got more stuff to put on the server than fits (there's only so many MP3s and digital pics that you can fit on a 60GB drive).

We're also going to move the printer to the living room, since that's the computer that now gets turned off the least (all the other ones are in rooms that sometimes become spare bedrooms).
