WRF Update
Jul. 9th, 2007 03:20 pmYesterday evening it rained, which while it cut down on the umber of people at the fair, also dramatically cooled things off. It also meant that we packed up in the rain, so the house in now full of drying tent and booth parts.
They're predicting a chance of rain for this weekend, but we're much happier now with how the tent handles rain, so we're less worried about that. The top is relatively waterproof, although it needs some work on the seams and where some of the extra support ropes run. I may also treat parts of the sidewalls (if I can find a waterproofer I like).
We had fun, but
teeka didn't get out to any shows because she was staying next to a fan all weekend because of the heat. I don't know how hot it got, but upper 90s wouldn't surprise me, and it was humid.
Photo-wise, I've currently got ~30 minutes of video and 700 pictures to sort through for this week's archive. I got out to see several of the shows (without looking at the photos, I remember seeing The Hickadillies, Peanut Butter & Gypsy, The Super Stupina Show, and Teatro's 'That Show', and had a request from Barely Balanced to stop by and photograph their show for their audition to Shokapee), and am working on figuring out how to process a series of high-speed photos into a video - I have 100 frames from the Jugglenaut's 'Water Show' where they balloon-barrage an audience member (who's holding a spiked shield), but PhotoPaint keeps adding the pics in reverse order, which is amusing, but not what I want.
I also need to cycle all of the batteries through the charger to make sure they're topped up - I was having problems charging on site because of the heat. I had the charger in the cooler for a while, but then people started stopping in to cool off, and there was too much traffic to safely keep it there (Li-Ion batteries really don't like falling into the water in the bottom of the cooler).
