You know it's never a good sign when you send an email to the hardware support people with the subject line of "How much is this going to cost?" The undergrad lab class today let the smoke out of the xray generator. Two power resistors and the high voltage transformer for sure, probably a few other parts too.

The highlight of my Navy career to date is burning out a $7,000 crystal resonator radar thingy (you can tell I haven't done radar since 98) because the instructor forgot to give me and my partner a signal attenuator.

Well, that and launching a bunch of missiles.
