It's that kind of place....

I just told the students in the lab where I'm putting up shelves that I was going to have to get a cutting torch to take an old shelf frame off the wall because I couldn't figure out how to get tools in to take the anchors out (really, I have no idea how the people who used to be here put it up).

They were like "Cool! Can we do the cutting?!"

Don't be silly. They build the wall around the anchors. Obviously...

1/2" threaded rod anchors, 3/4" nuts, rods cut off flush with the top of the unistrut, and I don't have a wrench or socket that fits over the bolt (because of how the unistrut is made).

I just ordered a new tank of acetylene so that I can cut the anchors off.

Exactly. They clearly built the shelving system and then build the wall around the anchors. Or used a nanobot wrench system.
