It's been a damp, but busy, day.

This morning was mostly housework, and some puttering about on the garage.

This afternoon I put up the shelves above the washer & dryer, and then ran the gas line for the other dryer. Then we turned off the gas and ran the furnace and water heater until they went out (to cut the pressure in the lines) and then I tapped in the dryer.

About then [livejournal.com profile] madolan came over to take away all the empty moving boxes.

Then I relit the water heater and we ran the furnace to make sure they both worked.

When I went to hook up the dryer, I discovered that it uses a 3/8" connector, not a 1/2" connector I had (gas ranges are by default 5/8", dryers 1/2", and portable gas water heaters 3/8"). I ran to Menards, got a 4' x 3/8" gas line, but when I went to hook it up I discovered that it requires a 3/8" pipe connection, not the 1/2" I thought it was. I'm probably not running to Menards again tonight, so I'll have to put the electric dryer back so I can dry what's in the washer.

Then it's on to the laundry tub. While I was at Menards I bought a 24" pipe wrench (Tool Shop brand, on sale for $10). Hopefully that will remove the branch line for the old tub (if not, I'll cut it off and use a no-hub connector).

But first, dinner!
