One of my profs asked me earlier today if I could fix his copier so that it would again scan documents to PDF and email them.

I told him I'd need to find out the passwords for the copier, and he said he'd check.

I went back to my office and decided to try the defaults. After a quick database search to find out the IP number, I determined that yes, the copier is still on the default settings. Took a look around, didn't find the setting I wanted, so I went over to his office, talked to his secretary, who couldn't find the note with the key operator code on it. We called the service guys (because I know that they can make the copier tell us what it is), who suggested that we try the default KeyOp code, and it worked too.

After that, it was fairly simple to fix the problem (the sender email was broken because the guy who owned the alias is no longer with the college).
