The Center for Creative Entropy
Feb. 17th, 2004 03:25 pmOccasionally when I'm filling in address information online, I will be at a site that demands I give it a business name. If I'm surfing around for personal stuff, I'll list myself as being part of 'The Center for Creative Entropy.'
Today I got a call from some company calling on behalf of IBM Small Business Services:
her: "Is this The Creative Entropy Center?"
me: "Yup"
her: "What kind of business do you do?"
me: "Trouble."
her: "Like, computer problems?"
me: "No. We cause trouble, fix trouble, whatever we want. That's what entropy is."
her: "How many employees do you have?"
me: "None. We're all volunteers doing it for the fun of it."
She then decided that I wasn't the kind of business she wanted to talk to and said "Thank you. Have a nice day," and hung up.
