Another "It's Cold!" post

I turned on the TV this morning to find out that it was -16F outside, with a windchill of -32F.

The trip to work wasn't too bad - it takes a while for the bus to get from the garage to my house, so it was almost comfortable.

Work, however.... The main air handler is down, which means no forced air heating to most of the building.

Of course, it would have to break today. Time to turn up the forges.

Surprisingly enough, that doesn't help. The foundry is on a separate air handler (which is working), so very little of that heat transfers through into the rest of the building.

Boy, it's all over. Lois' furnace is down because the blower fried.

She's running on space heaters. Boy, is space cold!

She can always come over here for a while. Space heaters are dangerous. She also has a fireplace and I've got some wood she can have.

Lois is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a worrywart to use space heaters unsafely. We discussed the fire thing last night, but she'd lose more heat out the chimney than she'd get in fire, unless she heated the hearth up for 5-6 hours. If it gets too cold, I'll send her over to my place, that's closer. Thanks, tho...
