Weekend work update
Sep. 9th, 2007 05:42 pmWe pulled up the carpet in the hall today. Only plywood underlayment (no hardwood), so we stuck it back down.
Then we started peeling the paint off of one of the door frames. Every piece of woodwork in the house is painted white. Most of it seems to be varnished wood underneath, so it will peel off, but it's going to take some doing to get it all off. We're doing the computer room door first, and then once we see how that looks, we'll decide what we're doing next. This project started a year ago when we bought Maggs' desk. I had to pull the stop molding off the frame to get the desk in, and I haven't gotten around to getting new molding until yesterday. When I started scraping off the mounded up paint, I found wood, and we decided to see what it looked like.
Then I mowed the lawn. Does anyone want little pine trees? I think we're up to about 50 now. I'm going to start moving them into hedgerows, and planting them about 8" apart so that they can be thinned later as needed to form solid lines.
