It's biking season
Apr. 8th, 2004 12:17 pmWe went biking for the first time this year earlier this week.
Last year, our first ride was up the Glacier Ridge Trail (one of Wisconsin's Rails to Trails projects), and we went about 5 miles at an average speed of about 4.5mph, and were completely wiped out.
This year, we went around town - we went and voted, rode back along the frontage road, then took the Wingra trail to the park (it's name escapes me) where Beerfest is, and then followed the lakeshore path up to the convention center and then came home along Fish Hatchery. 8 miles, ave speed 9mph. A little sore and afterwards, but nothing nearly as bad as last year. Apparently the 6 or so times I exerbiked over the winter helped. :)
