We went to Bristol yesterday for our only trip to the Faire for this season. We had a lot of fun, but it was a long day, since we stopped at
misteropinion's ex to see her, misteropinion,
k4tj3, the kids, and pick up produce that they'd brought back from the folks'.
At the faire I took a lot of pictures. One of which was from the Moonie & Broon show (the last show of the day they do together, and the last show of the last day of the faire is usually pretty outrageous). One of the things they did is the classic "use a sledgehammer to hit the concrete block resting on the stomach of the guy laying on a bed of nails" routine. I tried to get a pic of the sledgehammer hitting, and at the faire, thought I had missed it.
It wasn't until I got home and looked at the pic on the computer that I realize that in my pic the back half of the brick is missing. I was going to post the pic and a blowup of the sledgehammer part, but when I cropped down the hammer section, I accidentally saved it over the original.
I've since turned on backups in PhotoPaint and added a cache level. I'm also running PC Inspector Smart Recovery on the CF card. Currently on the second attempt because after I saw how slow it was and how long it was going to take, I stopped it, pulled the card from the camera, and plugged it into a CF reader so as to not have to worry about running out of camera batteries before it recovered pic 174 from the card (which is about where the one I want really is on the card).
ETA: I got the pic back, and am letting the recovery program run to see what else it finds on the card. The full picture is here and the picture I took right before it (to see the full concrete block for comparison) is here. Note: both of these are the original unedited (ie 2500x2000 pixel 1MB jpg) images.
