We got home from picking [livejournal.com profile] teeka up from Farmer's Market, and I realized that the garage door opener remote from the truck (the only remote that came with the garage) is in my shirt pocket. And my shirt is hanging inside the garage. And the garage door is closed. And the side door is blocked by a heap of tools and a set of shelves, and is locked, and we don't have a key.

Fortunately, one of the first garage remodeling things we did to the garage was to put a keypad on the garage, which let me get the remote out of the garage and put it back in the truck. I had had it in my pocket because I was using it to run the door up and down while I was oiling the hinges and rollers to fix the squeaks.

So far today, I've finished putting up drywall in Teeka's shop. Now it needs to be taped and mudded. I also insulated the first 4' of the backside of her wall and drywalled it - the dust collector room will go there so that it's centrally located between our workspaces and the runs will be shorter.

Now I'm in the process of moving the two 24x48 shelving units at the back of the garage - one of them needs to be turned and mounted to the side wall so that I can gain the extra room I need for the dust collector. Of course, while I had the corner one empty, I pulled it out, pulled the two wallboard panels from behind it, and insulated that part of the wall. Now I'm emptying the second one into the first one, and then I'll pull the last non-insulated back wall panel and do that.

But first, a break for dinner. Brats (ok, really italian sausages) and roast potatoes with a broccoli cheese sauce. If Teeka's lucky, I might even wake her up from her nap and let her have some too.

ETA: I shouldn't have stopped working. After dinner my knees had started to stiffen up, and I managed to clean up the driveway, but that's about it for the rest of the night.

My knee hurts, so after dinner, I took a multivitamin, some glucosamine (it works on the cat, so it can't hurt to try), some ibuprofen, and several twizzlers (they're probably the most important part of the whole set).
