This weather is making it difficult to work on the camper.

I'm doing camper repairs between rain showers, since once the camper gets wet, it has to stay up until it's dry, or it mildews. This week's weather predictions call for rain on and off all week, so it'd probably never dry out.

So, here's the camper with the front bunk opened so I can replace the bungee that holds the sidewall to the bunk frame - one end of the cord broke when we were looking at it. $12 later, I have 40' of 3/16" bungee and will replace the front now and the back at some other time (probably not until after it breaks too). I also reattached one of the clips for the latches that hold the top down while it's in transit. The roof is plywood with sheet metal over it, but the sides of the roof seem to be a fiberboard-like material, and on the driver's side front corner, the board is a little squishy, so I put a piece of plywood inside and ran longer bolts to stabilize the bracket. I also need to redo the bolts that hold the bunk supports (tent poles, basically, that go from the bottom of the bunk to brackets on the frame), since at least one of them is loose and is starting to tear up the plywood bunk board.

This is a quick shot of the inside showing the sink/range/furnace unit and the back bunk in its retracted position. I found one other camper of the same model online, and according to those people, the cushion fabric is original (it matches theirs, which they said was original). There's a little mildew on the canvas for the front bunk roof, and I'll clean that off one of these days.

My next major project is to unstick the back jacks. They need to be adjustable for leveling, but I may have to beat on them a bit to get them to move.

The whole time I was out, Marley was upstairs on the porch telling me that it wasn't fair that I was outside and she wasn't, and that if I didn't let her out to protect me, the monsters were going to eat me.
