I came in this morning to find my computer locked up and BSOD'd.

A half dozen reboots later, I got it into diagnostic mode and started running tests. Two hours of diagnostics later, I called dell and told them the results and without even questioning me they wrote me up for needing a new hard drive.

So then I dug up a spare computer, hooked it up, and went to restore all of my files, only to find that the backup was about 6 months old.

Fight witht he broken computer some more and get it to boot so that I can look at the backup routine, then go to the other server and recover the current (as of last night) backup of all the important files.

Not a very productive day, and I'm hoping that when the new drive comes in I can clone the old one onto it.

We upgraded the memory in one of our old servers a few weeks ago and today I figure out that it's only really happy with one PC-133 256MB stick and one PC-100 128MB stick and not two 256s. I've got a laptop that's quite ill, but I think I can bring it back. Spent a long time working on VPN setup with a huge new client. Routers. Firewalls. License renewals. Just a lot of crap.
