I don't understand why everyone at work thinks it's weird when I describe my weekend by saying ".. and I spent Sunday cutting big pieces of wood up into little ones so that I can glues them back together, and then when I was done filling the garage with sawdust, [livejournal.com profile] teeka went down there to play with broken glass."

Jewelry. Fused glass and stringing. I'm pondering getting into lampwork, if [livejournal.com profile] revchris will let me take over part of his workbench and experiment with his plumbing torches to see if I like them or if I'll need to buy my own. Mostly torchwork to make stringers and twisties (thin strings of glass, and two-color twisted thin strings of glass) to use as embellishments in my fusing stuff. My idea of a fun shopping experience is to paw through a big bucket of broken glass with my bare hands, and a relaxing evening is generally spent breaking the broken glass into smaller pieces and making heaps of the pieces.
