My computer is broken
Mar. 17th, 2005 08:41 amLast week, I started having problems, and eventually got Dell to decide to send me a hard drive. After most of a week of trying to fix it, including three reformats & reinstallations, 20+ BSoDs, a day of swapping ram around trying to isolate and see if that's the problem, and about 10 hours of waiting for multiple diagnostics to complete, they've decided it probably isn't the drive.
Tomorrow they're sending me a motherboard, 2GB of new ram, and a technician to install them (if they send you parts, and that doesn't fix your problem, according to the guy I just talked to, they can't just send you more parts - they have to send you a technician with the parts and have him install them).
If all goes well, then I plan to try to ghost the old drive back over the new drive again and see if that fixes things, since that's by far the fastest way to get everything reinstalled.
