Just got a message from my friend Mary checking on the box of pics we sent them after their wedding. Discovered that we sent it to the old address, and even though there's a forwarding order, it got delivered wrong (Mary says that the people at her post office would have a hard time figuring their way out of a wet paper bag). I gave Mary the tracking number, and she's going to call the PO and see if they can actually forward it to her instead of returning it to us as 'undeliverable as addressed.

In other news, yesterday the truck was having transmission unhappiness. Took it in to the garage today, and they couldn't find anything wrong. No codes in the computer, nothing noticeable during the road test. They do think that there's a slow leak in the torque converter gasket, and might also be one on the tailshaft seal. The tail seal will be a warranty job, since they replaced it a few months ago, but the other one alo means a new rear main gasket (since you have to open that seal anyway), for about $440. Have to take it back in Thursday or Friday - they cleaned the tranny and want to see if the tail seal is really leaking. Apparently there was too much crud on it to tell for sure today.

Sorry about the truck. Transmission problems sucky suck sucks

Mine is getting old and the AC broke about 6 weeks after it was fixed. Right before the 90 degree weather. Took it back and there is a leak in the compressor. I'm hoping it will hold out for the summer and I will endeavor to get a newer vehicle in the next year.

Oh, and the Post Office is full of lazy morons with the exception of our mailman Les and others like him. He was out for surgery and I think the neighborhood sent him flowers.

Since the truck has 160k miles on it, if all I need to do for maintenance to the tranny is replace seals, I really don't have a problem with that. WE'd like it to keep going for another year or two, and then we should be able to afford to buy a new one. We're currently talking about getting a second car (a small 3/4-cyl 'around town' car) to save wear and tear on the truck, but that probably won't happen right away either.
