I pitched a couple of camera batteries last week - when they come out of the charger and the camera still says that they're low, it's probably time for replacements. The new ones came in on Friday, and I've only taken a few pics with them, so I don't really have a good comparison. (NABCo Ultralife UL-ENEL1 w/2-year warranty).
Then I had an idea.
I put the camera in my office window and plugged in the time-lapse controller. 2 hours (and 60 pictures) later, the camera has shut down because the camera says the battery is empty. Now I'm repeating it with one of the other old batteries for comparison. It will take a while as the time-lapse module won't let me shoot faster than every 120 seconds. It does, however, also mean that I can go do other stuff and the test will run all by itself.
Edit: 41 pics, 82 minutes on the newer of the old batteries.
