Jun. 28th, 2006 12:07 amI'm finally almost done with Austin's (Teeka's nephew) bed parts. They just moved to Madison, and his bedroom is done in a castle theme. Somewhere along the way, it was suggested that a custom made set up head- and foot-boards from Uncle Chris would be way cool. It wasn't a bad idea until we started with the Ren Faire and with looking for a house. Then I ran out of time. They're made of plywood, cut out with towers for posts, complete with crenelations. Then they get primed white, and taped in a running bond pattern, and finally fleck-stoned to give them a granite-like finish, at which point all the tape is removed, leaving white grout lines.
Currently, they look like this:
On the house front, we made an offer on Friday on 805 Fulton Lane (pics, MLS), and they countered, and we countered, and then we countered again, after our agents worked out what should be a final deal. We should find out tomorrow if we're going to get the house.
If so, then we start with the inspections, and finishing the financing, and working on throwing away (or sending to Goodwill) all of the junk we've been storing but don't really need, and then we start packing. All of this while also doing the next three weekends of the Faire. And trying not to go nuts and kill anyone in the process.
