Accreditation
Sep. 20th, 2006 08:28 amThe review is over, and we passed. Next review in 6 years.
Sunday we were close to failing, but the reviewer let us spend Monday and Tuesday adding extra documentation to improve our position. If he were an industry person, we probably wouldn't have made it, but he was a Dean from Rutgers (where they were also undergoing accreditation review on Monday and Tuesday), so he knows how things really work, and that may have helped.
Af course, he's almost required to find something to complain about so that we have something to worry about for the next six years. What problem did he find? "If the professor who is teaching your Senior Design course (and doing it exactly the way we want it done) ever leaves, then whoever takes over teaching it might not do it the right way."
As my boss put it, "We can live with that."
